CHEER & GYMNASTICS BACKGROUND
I have nearly 30 years of combined experiences. My combined experience span in the areas to include teaching, coaching cheerleading and gymnastics to children. I actively participated in cheerleading from elementary age until I completed high school on a competitive level. I have competed in NCAA level competitions throughout my childhood which has concluded with coaching children’s gymnastics in New York for 2 years.
EDUCATION CAREER BACKGROUND
I am a graduate of Prairie View A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Med with a minor in Chemistry. Shortly after graduation I entered the education arena in 2010. Within this arena many challenges were identified. Many of the children lacked relational stability. The correlation of self-worth and ability to achieve are paramount as we grow.
One thing was evident to me and that was the need meet each child where he/she was. This propelled me to develop/build an individual relationship with each student. When the uniqueness of each person is garnished, everyone can capitalize on his/her highest potential. The love that I exude for teaching and helping was evident which grew the trust between my students and myself along with their parents. We know that when someone knows that you care, they are able to learn from you best. After I returned back to Houston, I was approached back in 2015 to be a part of a ministry Called Pathway to Hope which trained and equipped parents of children who come from the foster care system and adoption. I became TBRI Institute of Child development trained and certified in 2015 (TRUST BASE RELATIONAL INTERVENTION). This program changed my perspective and better equipped me to truly learn and understand multiple ways to meet each child/person where they are in life in order to better support them and extend grace and understanding while they are figuring out life and developing. This training has stuck with me and has built a stronger ability within me to connect with so many people naturally. My passion has led me from the classroom to a bigger classroom where I get the opportunity to meet you in YOUR individualize classroom. I am here to coach, challenge and develop YOU! Well you could say I became a cheer squad which was customized to each child’s personal BEST. We all achieve at different rate, but the important thing to remember is: WE ALL CAN ACHIEVE!!!
MY ROAD TO THE BIG APPLE 🗽🍎🍏
My life journey landed me in New York in 2018 in pursuit of a career associated with my acting and modeling background. While waiting on that big break; I applied for and secured a job at a local gymnastics’ gym. Well, my passion and portfolio of skills (education, training and physical activities) serve as catalysts in the development of this program. My approach is geared toward development of each child’s overall holistic essence. The success that I have witnessed in such a short period while coaching in New York before the pandemic, was mind blowing. We were all impacted during the pandemic which caused a deep sadness in my heart due to the inability to interact with my students. I started developing this curriculum which is designed to provide interaction, development of physical skills and parental coaching from myself on how to cultivate a deep bond with your child. This program is like no other program out there and is tailored made for the parents/caretakers that desire tools to better connect with your little one at home. I believe wholeheartedly that the home should be the greatest place where a child starts to feel love, support, encouragement, empowerment and so many other developmental foundations. If there are any disconnects from the parents/caretakers, the connection and ability to learn and trust from the child will be altered. This is why I am using my gifts and talents to share with the world the curriculum that I have designed for each of you and your precious littles to grow up confidently and strong. I have had the privilege to witness the mind-blowing growth in the lives of each little one that I have had the privilege of coaching starting at 3 months old.
